The OLV Angel

The world was dark. It needed light.
And so an angel came…
Into our homes, so shimmering white
She knew each child by name.
She guided them with wings unfurled
And jewel-encrusted heart,
Protecting all inside that home
And loved ones far apart.

Inside each home she found a spot
To keep a watchful eye,
Of every child’s kindly thought,
And every truth or lie.
Each act of kindness brought her joy
And made her body glow.
For she so loved each girl and boy,
And wanted them to know.

She loved it when they did their chores,
No matter small or grand.
Each time they cleaned their bedroom floors
And lent a helping hand.
She watched them help pick up the yard,
And follow every rule.
She smiled as they studied hard,
To earn good grades at school.

She loved it in her special place
It made her warm and bright.
For there she’d spread amazing grace
From now through Christmas night.
So may this angel be a sign,
For all the world to see,
The way your child’s light brings shine
To all at OLV.
