Forever a Soldier

Written in dedication to the four Lubas brothers,(Leo, Henry,Walter, and Frank). All four Veterans of World War II.

I’ll forever be a soldier, always doing what I can,
To serve my God and country, and protect my fellow man.
I am drawn by sense of duty, I will heed its every call,
And will stand beside my brother, to defend him should he fall.

I’ll give all I have to offer so that others may be free,
To enjoy those precious freedoms that were given unto me.
I will sow the seeds of justice, I will always stand and fight,
To protect the meek and helpless, and defend their every right.

I will live my life with honor, from each day until the last,
And I’ll always pay my homage, to my comrades who have passed.
While remaining ever grateful to my Savior up above,
Who keeps watch over my brothers and the country that I love.

Yes, I’ll always be a soldier, even when the war is done.
For this land still needs defending; there are battles to be won.
Though my body may grow weaker, it’s my soul that keeps me strong,
For the courage of the soldier has been with me all along.
